I graduated from Old Dominion University with a BS degree in Counseling Psychology in 1991. In 1996 I obtained a Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Counseling & Master of Arts in Education from SWBTS. During graduate studies, I was selected for a three-year intensive clinical practicum in marriage and family, parenting, sexual addiction, sexual trauma, and sexuality. I completed an additional year of counseling with couples and parenting-discipline with families in the community. Later I returned to graduate school to study Pharmaceutical & Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Florida, and Neurology at Mayo Clinic. While attending school I worked as a corporate trainer, curriculum writer, and performance coach for Capital One, Merrill Lynch, and Wells Fargo.
I am a certified recovery and life coach since 2007, and former contractor for the State of Florida, providing mental health-related services with severe and persistent mentally ill adults in Jacksonville, Florida, including substance dependency and veterans. Recently, I completed two years at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida in Clinical Research, specializing in Neurocritical Care and Neurosurgery.
I have had the opportunity to speak and lecture at Mayo Clinic, Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, City of Jacksonville Children’s Commission, University of Florida, Webster University, Neurocritical Care Society Annual Conference, as well as many other organizations.
